On 3 October 1993, a land mine detonated underneath the vehicle in which SGT Vig was riding (not shown), throwing him clear. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
