Nine-year-old Hassien-A-Yassr Alghzali (seated) is treated by US Army (USA) medical personnel from the Task Force 198th Battalion Aid Station (BAS) at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Hotel, Najaf, Iraq. A mortar round injured the boy during a battle between US Marines and insurgents in the Summer of 2004. The medical staff of TF 198th BAS played a vital role in overseeing this young boy's care and are making every effort to send him to the United States for reconstructive surgery. Members of the 198th BAS are forward deployed to FOB Hotel in central Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
