Mr. James Cooper, a POW during the latter years of WWII, speaks at the annual POW/MIA Ceremony held in Heritage Park at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona. Mr. Cooper was a navigator with the Army Air Corps from 1943-1945 and became a German POW after being shot down 29 June 1944 during his 12th bombing mission. He was liberated on April 29th, 1945

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. NARA keeps those Federal records that are judged to have continuing value—about 2 to 5 percent of those generated in any given year.
