At the request of the United Nations, aircraft from Rhein-Main AB, Germany, and the International Red Cross were sent in to Sarajevo to airlift the wounded to Ramstein AB, Germany. Once at Ramstein the wounded were transported by medical bus to the Army Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
