Two United States Air Forces Europe F-16Cs fly in formation during a mission in support of NATO Operation Allied Force. The F-16s are from the 510th Fighter Squadron "Buzzards", Aviano Air Base, Italy and are carrying a full air-to-air combat load to include AIM-120 missiles, drop tanks and a electronic jamming pod. The lead F-16 is a single seat F-16CG and has both a laser designating pod as well as a FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) pod on the intake sides. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. NARA keeps those Federal records that are judged to have continuing value—about 2 to 5 percent of those generated in any given year.
