A member of the Army's 82nd Airborne Division Fort Bragg, North Carolina, parachutes to the ground at Charleston Air Force Base after jumping from a C-17 Globemaster III, 15th Airlift Squadron Charleston AFB, South Carolina. The jump is part of the 82nd Airborne Division Associations annual convention in downtown Charleston Aug. 8-12. 300 members of the 82nd exited the C-17s in six passes. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
