Polish citizens come to see the guided missile cruiser USS HARRY E. YARNELL (CG 17) shortly after the vessel, along with the guided missile frigate USS KAUFFMAN (FFG 59), arrived in port. The YARNELL and KAUFFMAN are visiting Poland in conjunction with BALTOPS '90, a NATO exercise in the Baltic Sea. Their port call represents the first visit by the American vessels since 1927

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
