MASTER Sergeant Cindie McKenna, a world class ultra-marathon runner and Oregon Air National Guard member, assigned to the 142nd Maintenance Squadron, Portland ANG Base during her marathon run from Fort Hood to the Oregon coast. For the 14th annual Hood to the Coast relay race, she did something no one had done before, she ran the 196-miles solo! The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. NARA keeps those Federal records that are judged to have continuing value—about 2 to 5 percent of those generated in any given year.
