Schwab, steel magnate, on Riverside Drive, New York, was converted into workrooms for American Red Cross workers who gave their services to the country. Many society women comprised the auxiliary which met daily at the Schwab mansion to make surgical dressings. Photo shows the patriotic women making bandages in the bowling alleys

Many of them have been turned over to the Red Cross for workshops for the women who volunteer to make bandages and other surgical dressings for the soldiers and sailors.
