Supply routes for Stabilization Force (SFOR), Personnel have to be in good condition to allow freedom of movement in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Many bridges are downgraded by Stabilization Force (SFOR), Engineers due to various safety reasons. A bridge in Doboj, failed an inspection due to heavy traffic flow. The solution to the problem is the Mabey and Johnson Bridge which is to be built by the Hungarian Engineering Contingent. The project has been on going since September and is expected to be completed November 21, 1998. Today the Hungarians latched decking sections on the Bridges skeleton that will enable travel across the Bosnia river

US Army (USA) STAFF Sergeant (SSG) Chris Crawford, American Intelligence Battalion, Camp Butmir, Canton 9, Bosnia and/I Herzegovina (BIH), battles for the ball in the soccer mud-pit during the Gorazde sports day competition. The City of Gorazde, Canton 5, BIH, annually televises sports day, where four international teams, including a representative team from Stabilization Force (SFOR) military members compete. A Romanian soldiers puts grease on the tracks to help a 2-ton generator slide up and onto the concrete slab. The Romanian Stablization Force (SFOR) soldiers were able to get the generator in place by using a High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) to pull it up the ramp and onto the concrete slab during Operation JOINT GUARDIAN. JOINT GUARDIAN is part of NATO's actions to promote regional stability, cooperation and security, in support of the international community. It's main aim is to allow safe return of refugees and displaced persons, to help alleviate human suffering and to achieve a peace settlement in Kosovo

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. NARA keeps those Federal records that are judged to have continuing value—about 2 to 5 percent of those generated in any given year.
