US Navy (USN) Sailors aboard a Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RIHB) from the USN Oliver Hazard Perry Class; Guided Missile Frigate, USS CARR (FFG 52) (not shown), come to the aid of distressed vessel off the coast of Sierra Leone, Africa. The small craft, with a crew of six men, had been at sea for 35 days and was without a working motor, food, or water. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
