The Tri-walled Aerial Delivery (TRIAD) boxes are designed to break apart as they leave the C-17 Globemaster III at high-altitude over Afghanistan. This will release thousands of Humanitarian Daily Rations (HDR) safely to those waiting on the ground near the refugee camps. The Air Force C-17's delivered HDRs in Support of ENDURING FREEDOM from Germany to Afghan refugees who have massed inside the borders of Afghanistan. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
