Visitors inspect the new MH-53J Pave Low IIIE helicopter at a roll out ceremony introducing the first of 41 modified HH-53 helicopters to the public.  Some of the modifications include new instrument panels, consoles, various secure voice radio and satellite communications systems and titanium armor plating over critical avionics systems.  The helicopter will be tested for the next six months before being turned over to the 20th Special Operations Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Florida

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
