Becker, Commander, 15th Air Force (AF), Travis Air Force Base (AFB), California (CA), takes a last look at the flightdeck of the USAF Convair C-131D Samaritan where the last 15th AF staff meeting was held at the Travis Air Force Base (AFB) Museum. The Samaritan was one of the aircraft MGEN Becker flew during his career; the General will retire in a few days after 33 years of service in the US Air Force. On the same day the 15th AF will close and be redesignated during a special ceremony

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. NARA keeps those Federal records that are judged to have continuing value—about 2 to 5 percent of those generated in any given year.
