A P-15 SS-N-2c Styx SSM from the Soviet-built Tarantul I class missile corvette USNS HIDDENSEE (185NS9201). This Soviet-developed missile first entered operational service in 1973. It uses a solid fuel booster for the launch/acceleration phase and a liquid fuel turbojet sustainer motor for the cruise phase. The 21-foot-long missile weighs 5,570 pounds and has an 1,100-pound warhead. It has a 45 nautical mile range and uses an active radar-infrared homing system

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
