1st Lt. Thad Sollick, a C-17 pilot assigned to the 437th Operations Support Squadron, briefs Fallon Emery, a new honorary member of the 437th OSS, and her family inside the cockpit of a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft Nov. 7, 2018, at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., as part of the Airman for a Day program. During her visit, 14-year-old Emery also toured a C-17 flight simulator, learned about night vision and other military technology, controlled an explosive ordnance disposal robot and met with 437th Airlift Wing senior leaders. The Airman for a Day program recognizes the resilience of children battling various illnesses by enabling them to observe Air Force units and experience their culture for a day.
