200321-N-HR150-1046 PHILIPPINE SEA (March 21, 2020) - Machinist's Mate Fireman Thomas Varner, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, assists Machinist's Mate 3rd Class Benjamin Milstein, from Edison, New Jersey, don his firefighting helmet during a general quarters training evolution aboard U.S. 7th Fleet flagship, USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19). General quarters training allows Sailors to prepare themselves in the event of actual casualties. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
