A contractor with the Okinawa Prefectural Board of Education, Archaeological Center, surveys the remains of a farm during an archaeological dig on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 25, 2019. The excavation is part of a partnership between the OPAC and the Marine Corps Installations Pacific Environmental Affairs Branch. Pottery from 600 years ago, building remains from 2,500 years ago, and evidence that the excavation site was home to farmers before World War II have been discovered.
