A local national employee seals drums of finished biodiesel
Summary
A local national employee seals drums of finished biodiesel converted from used cooking oil. A Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract partner converts used cooking oil from dining facilities at Bagram Air Field and Forward Operating Base Fenty and Dahlke into biodiesel that is used as a supplemental fuel source for solid waste incinerators. Drums are moved and the biodiesel pumped to the solid waste incinerator fuel tanks each day. The contractor began reclaiming used cooking oil from dining facilities on Bagram Air Field and two forward operation bases in a process that is projected to result in cost avoidance of as much as $750,000 per year.
