A Marine prepares to exit an upside down Humvee Egress
Summary
A Marine prepares to exit an upside down Humvee Egress Assistance Trainer April 28 aboard Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. The HEAT is one of the final steps in the Vehicle Safety Training Program that Marines undergo in order to operate Humvees. The training develops the Marines’ ability to avoid a rollover, minimize injuries in the case of a rollover, and understand how to egress from a rolled vehicle. The training sharpens teambuilding skills and develops muscle memory and readiness through crew and battle drills.
