Summary
A section of the Rainbow Division memorial at Garden City, N.Y. which commemorates the World War I service of the 42nd Infantry Division and its assembly at Camp Albert Mills in August and September 1917 on Long Island , ten miles east of New York City. The memorial was erected in 1940 by World War I veterans of the division. It was rennovated this summer by the Rainbow Division Veterans Foundation and the Village of Garden City to mark the centennial of the division and World War 1.
