A soldier runs the five-kilometer Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, in a full combat load at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, Nov. 4. The Susan G. Komen foundation was established during 1982 in an effort to end breast cancer throughout the world. During its 30 years, the foundation has invested nearly $2 billion to fulfilling that promise. Approximately 600 personnel deployed to Afghanistan raised approximately $19,000.
