Summary
A U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II flies along side a KC-135 Stratotanker during a mission in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel over Afghanistan, Oct 2, 2018. The A-10 Thunderbolt II has excellent maneuverability at low air speeds and altitude, and is a highly accurate and survivable weapons-delivery platform. The aircraft can loiter near battle areas for extended periods of time and operate in low ceiling and visibility conditions. U.S. Air Forces Central Command Airmen, Joint personnel and Coalition partners provide airpower effects across U.S. Central Command’s 20-nation area of responsibility reaching from Egypt to Afghanistan.
