Airmen from the California National Guard set up 265
Summary
Airmen from the California National Guard set up 265 beds at the Fresno Convention Center April 8, 2020. The convention center is serving as an alternate care site in Fresno, Calif., in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thirty Airmen from the 146th Airlift Wing and nine Airmen from the local 144th Fighter Wing completed the set up in record time. The team from the 146th Airlift Wing has been working with FEMA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and regional civilian agencies for the last two weeks to set up alternative care sites throughout California. Fresno County plans to use the site to treat non-COVID-19 patients to help alleviate the strain on local hospitals during the ongoing pandemic. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Capt. Jason Sanchez)
