An Afghan National Army Special Forces (ANASF) medic
Summary
An Afghan National Army Special Forces (ANASF) medic applies deworming medication orally to sheep during a village veterinarian outreach program event in Maiwand district, Kandahar province, Afghanistan, Jan. 10. Afghan paraveterinarians and ANASF medics treated more than 300 local livestock including donkeys, camels, sheep, goats and a cow for parasites and common diseases. Outreach programs improve the health and livelihood of Afghans in rural areas, bolster the legitimacy of local government, and give villagers an opportunity to voice their concerns.
