An Italian coalition trainer sprays cleaning solution onto a 60mm mortar tube swab during weapon maintenance training near Atrush, Iraq, July 27, 2016. The trainers taught Peshmerga soldiers how to properly disassemble and clean the M224 60mm mortar system following weeks of live-fire exercises. By enabling increased security capabilities among local fighting forces through the advise and assist, and building partner capacity, missions, the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve’s multinational Coalition is helping the Government of Iraq to set the conditions to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
