description

Summary

Approximately 150 Airmen from the 821st Contingency Response Group at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., participated in a first-of-its-kind Joint contingency response exercise from Sept. 8-19 at five locations (Southern California Logistics Airfield, Calif., Freedom Landing Zone, Calif., Gunnison Region Airfield, Colo., Red Devil Landing Zone, Colo., Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., and Fort Carson, Colo.). During the training, 821st CRG Airmen supported more than 275 Soldiers from Fort Carson, Colo., during air drop missions, helicopter training, coordinated Apache air support, and personnel and equipment airlift training. The Contingency Response (CR) training was constructed to primarily develop unique CR-oriented training objectives to improve down range effectiveness in preparation for real-world responses.
