Cherokee, N.C., March 21, 2013 -- Principal Chief, Michell Hicks, of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation (EBCI) visits FEMA's Green Hornet, a self-contained operational unit in Cherokee, NC. FEMA is working with members of the Eastern Band Cherokee Indians and North Carolina officials, on various public assistance projects which were damaged during a severe winter storm in January. Wirght, Region 4 FEMA Contracting Officer is working with Curtis Wildcatt, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Tribal Employment Rights Office (EBCI-TERO) Compliance Officer with to insure that Native American vendors are qualified to do business with the federal government on a national level. The training session is designed to train TERO employees on how to register Native American vendors with EBCI with federal government contracting opportunities.
