Audience members clap during the retirement ceremony of U.S. Air Force Gen. Darren W. McDew, former commander of the U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, Aug. 24, 2018. The ceremony marked the end of McDew's highly-decorated, 36-year military career, which encompassed 19 assignments, 3,600 hours of flying hours on 10 different aircraft, and three consecutive commands at Scott AFB, which included the 18th Air Force, Air Mobility Command, and USTRANSCOM.
