Summary
GULF OF MEXICO - Driller Bobby Moseley (left), and assistant driller Ron Suydam (right), monitor the "iron roughneck," the robotic arm used to unscrew long sections of pipe from the wellhead, from the computerized control room aboard the Development Driller III on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010. The "bottom kill" procedure involves filling the well with cement. After a successful pressure test, the well was declared dead by National Incident Commander Admiral (ret.) Thad Allen.
