Capt. Edward Moninger, Commodore 5th Navy Expeditionary Logistics Regiment (5th NELR) and U.S. Navy reservist assigned to Navy Cargo Handling Battalion (NCHB) 14 listen to Staff Sgt. Omar Morales assigned to 735th Air Mobility Squadron (AMS) discusses the capabilities of cargo on loads of the Lockheed C5 Galaxy transport aircraft. The 5th NELR, Navy NCHB 14 have been working in a joint effort as part of a humanitarian assistance disaster relief scenario during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2014. Twenty-two nations, 49 ships, six submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC exercise from June 26 to Aug. 1, in and around the Hawaiian Islands. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans.
