Ceremonies - Salutes and Parades - New York - New York greets Camp Upton men
Summary
Original Caption: New York greets Camp Upton men. Ten thousand men representing every branch of service at Camp Upton, marched down snow-covered Fifth Avenue. The parade was the most impressive celebration of Washington's Birthday New York has ever known. These soldiers tramped down the avenue with a quick, determined step that bore a striking contrast to the manner in which they departed for camp in the Fall of 1917. Photo shows Infantrymen passing reviewing stand.
