Coalition leaders and Iraqi counterparts hosted an inter-ministerial conference for health professionals at the Baghdad headquarters of Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve Sept. 5. The group included representatives of the Iraqi surgeons general and medical leaders from the ministries of interior, defense and health as well as Iraqis Counter Terrorism Service, Air Force and Army Aviation. The conference was an opportunity for all the ministries that are involved with delivering health care to discuss successes, requirements and potential collaboration efforts. As part of the conference, a senior medical leader from each of the ministries gave on overview of their capabilities and discussed past and future opportunities for medical collaboration between ministries. CJTF-OIR is committed to working by, with and through partners to build and enhance capacities that will maintain pressure on Daesh and help set conditions for regional stability.
