Coast Guard Cutter Forward conducts Africa Partnership Station (APS) mission

ROTA, Spain--Coast Guard Seaman Garrett Downey secures a brow line to the flight deck of the Coast Guard Cutter Forward after the ship moored to a pier in Rota, Spain, June 3, 2011.

The Forward is on a scheduled deployment in West Africa supporting the Africa Partnership Station, (APS) which aims to strengthen global maritime partnerships through training and other collaborative activities in order to improve maritime safety and security in Africa.
