Crane Army Ammunition Activity employees disassemble
Summary
Crane Army Ammunition Activity employees disassemble 76 mm white phosphorus cartridge cases and projectiles. Non-explosive metal components are shipped to a local recycling company while the dangerous white phosphorus material is converted to the much safer phosphoric acid. CAAA engineers are vital to demilitarization- they design machinery and tools and maximize operational efficiency, helping Crane Army better support the Warfighter. Crane Army Ammunition Activity provides conventional munitions support for U.S. Army and Joint Force readiness, including production, demilitarization, transportation and storage.
