Summary

First-of-its-kind “Operation No Safe Haven” targeted fugitive alien rights violators in multiple cities. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 19 fugitive aliens wanted for their roles in known or suspected human rights violations during a first-of-its-kind nationwide operation last week targeting such individuals in multiple cities across the United States. During the operation that concluded Sept. 18, ICE’s National Fugitive Operations Program in coordination with the ICE Homeland Security Investigations Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Unit (HRVWCU) and the ICE Office of the Principal Legal Advisor’s Human Rights Law Section, arrested fugitive aliens in Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York City and San Francisco.
