Friends and family members make welcome home signs
Summary
Friends and family members make welcome home signs for members of the 176th Wing, Alaska Air National Guard who returned from a six-month deployment to the Horn of Africa, April 7. Approximately 44 Alaska Air Guardsmen were greeted by friends and loved ones when they arrived at the Joint Military Complex on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. The Guardsmen deployed to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti last November in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where they served as part of the 81st Expeditionary Rescue Squadron. Their mission was to provide personnel recovery capabilities in the region, including combat search and rescue, casualty evacuation, and non-combatant evacuation operations.
