Summary
Capt. Catie Cook, head veterinarian assigned to High Speed Vessel Swift, visits a dairy farm in the town of Pedro Brand, in the mountains of Santo Domingo. Cook is visiting farms in more remote areas of the Dominican Republic, teaming with the support of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, to test and raise awareness of diseases such as tuberculosis and swine flu. Cook is part of Southern Partnership Station 2012, an annual deployment partnering with nations in the Caribbean and Latin America.
