JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 26, 2019) – Capt. Matthew Case (right), Naval Hospital Jacksonville commander, and Command Master Chief Lewis Jackson wash their hands. Staff and clinicians at NH Jacksonville use handwashing (with soap and water), antiseptic hand wash, antiseptic hand rub (alcohol-based hand sanitizer), or surgical hand antisepsis, based on the circumstances and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. May 5 is World Hand Hygiene Day, highlighting the role of hand hygiene in infection prevention.
