JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 29, 2019) – Hospital Corpsman

description

Summary

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 29, 2019) – Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Jeffrey Kramer confirms a patient’s name and date of birth at the start of a visit at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Family Medicine Clinic. Accurate patient identification is one of The Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goals. Kramer, a native of Dayton, Ohio, says, “We use at least two ways to identify patients. For example, we use the patient’s name and date of birth. This is done to make sure that each patient gets the correct medicine and treatment.” The Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest accrediting body in health care. Our hospital and five branch health clinics have consistently earned The Gold Seal of Approval® from The Joint Commission. (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
