Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) soldiers conduct fast-roping during helicopter rope suspension training during Exercise Iron Fist 2016 aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., Feb. 1, 2016. Fast-roping is a specialized insertion method, by which service members move from a hovering helicopter to an objective on the ground by sliding down a rope anchored to the helicopter.
