KEY WEST, Fla. (Sept. 12, 2017) Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) and Marines assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit unload water and meals, ready to eat during humanitarian assistance efforts Naval Air Station Key West. The Department of Defense is supporting Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Irma to minimize suffering and as one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
