Summary

Lance Cpl. Timothy M. Walsh, a 21-year-old assaultman from Winchester, N.H., gathers with an Iraqi family after he gave an Iraqi boy a soccer ball during a patrol in Sadiquiyah, Iraq, Aug. 16. Walsh and other Marines assigned to I Company, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment conducted the patrol to show their presence within the community. Marines said they are making progress because the locals now come out of their homes to greet them. Walsh is a team leader currently serving a seven-month deployment in the Habbaniyah area under Regimental Combat Team 5.
