Lt. Gen. Brad Webb, left, commander of Air Force Special Operations Command, presents Maj. Jacob Duff, chief of long range planning with Air Force Special Operations Command, with the Distinguished Flying Cross at Hurlburt Field, Fla., Sept. 8, 2017. Duff was an instrumental part of a mission while deployed in 2014, during which he provided aerial refueling for a helicopter formation, preventing friendly forces from being forced to make emergency landings in hostile territory. The DFC is awarded for heroic or extraordinary achievement in flight and can be awarded to an officer or enlisted member in any branch of the military.
