Linger, Company B, 116th Engineer Battalion (Combat), a veteran of the Vietnam War, was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for exceptionally meritorious service in Vietnam during the period of Oct. 15, 1968 to Aug. 25, 1969 and the Purple Heart for wounds received in action on May 29, 1969 in Vietnam.
