March is recognized internationally as women’s month

description

Summary

March is recognized internationally as women’s month to honor the contributions of women throughout history. This month allows us the opportunity to recognize and highlight a few women currently serving in the Kosovo Force Regional Command East ranks. Scattered throughout KFOR RC-E women are proving to be idols in their own right as they exemplify attributes of the military’s values and the overall KFOR mission.

US Army National Guard Spc. Christen Aragon

Aragon works with the most complicated pieces of military equipment as a crew chief.

“I have been in six years,” said Aragon. “I have always been fascinated with aircraft ever since I can remember. Now I have the chance to fly around in an amazing aircraft and work on it, know how it works inside and out. I love what I am able to do on a daily basis.”

Although shy upon first meeting her, Aragon will soon shock you with her wit and boldness.

“On the civilian side, I am a Jail Deputy back in Colorado,” said Aragon. “I directly supervise the inmates. It has allowed me to be able to react fast in stressful environments and adapt easily.”

Aragon is dedicated to her craft and always looking for challenges.

“Being in the Army and doing this job is not easy, but it is very rewarding,” said Aragon.

One of four females that operates the UH-60s in Alpha Company, Aragon is committed to the KFOR mission and bettering herself while she is here.

“There are ups and downs, but that is true for almost anything. Just focus on being exceptional at your job. If you do those things, you will succeed and you will have a rewarding career.” “Care less of what others think and be an expert in your craft.”
