Maritime Civil Affairs and Security Training Command personnel work with local nationals during a recent mission to the Union of Comoros. Engaging local nationals during any civic assistance activity is essential to the success of such operations and was the subject of military-to-military training delivered to Comoros security forces as part of the larger Maritime Civil Affairs mission. MCAST Command, homeported at Joint Expeditionary Base Ft. Story-Little Creek, Va., provides Maritime Civil Affairs and security force assistance in support of U.S. Maritime Strategy.
