Summary
Mineman Seaman Andrew Handley, originally from Stroud, Okla., shows off a handwritten card he received during the 65th Annual Sapporo Snow Festival, Jan. 5, 2014. Handley is a is a member of the Navy Misawa Snow Sculpture Team, which is in Hokkaido, Japan, taking part in the 65th Annual Sapporo Snow Festival. The team sculpted a frosty, 3-D version of the U.S. Navy Seabee's "Fighting Bee" logo. This is the 31st year that Naval Air Facility Misawa and its tenant commands have sent a delegation of sailors to Sapporo to create a sculpture, and to serve as U.S. Navy good will ambassadors in an area of Japan that doesn’t receive much U.S. Navy exposure.
