Naval Exchange Activity 2013
Summary
Rear Adm. Thom Carney, commander, Logistics Group Western Pacific, greets local dignitaries during the closing ceremony of Naval Exchange Activity 2013 in Da Nang, Vietnam. The NEA provides opportunities for U.S. and Vietnamese naval professionals to share best practices and exchange maritime skills. Maritime skill exchanges between the two navies are non-combatant events, such as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, medical training, firefighting and damage control, search and rescue, diving and salvage, sports and community service projects.
