New York Army National Guard Sgt. Taj Coleman prepares to sound off during an October 5, 2019 ceremony at Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands, N.Y.during which Brig. Gen. John Andonie, New York National Guard director of Joint Stafff, and State Command Sgt. Major David Piwowarski laid a wreath at the grave of President Chester Arthur, who served from 1881 to 1885.The military honors past presidents by laying a wreath from the current inhabitant of the White House on their graves on their birthday.
